Recently my husband made a comment to me that inspired this challenge. I was chatting away with “strangers” on an online home school group. My husband walked by and said, “I don’t understand how you can spend so much time talking to people you don’t know on the internet, when we don’t even know all of the people that live on our street.”
Ouch.
But he’s right. Our lives have become so filled with screens and busyness that we forget there are real people out there. So over the next two weeks your challenge is to meet someone. Take a walk down your street and knock on a door. Strike up a conversation with someone at the doctor’s office or the grocery store. Talk to another mom at the park. Who knows you might just make a new friend?
Even better, make it a habit to meet one new person each week for the rest of the year. Step out of that comfort zone and win some souls!
Being neighborly,
Chelli
