Legacy Family Camp 2012

“I will cause your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the people shall praise You forever and ever.”

Psalm 45:17

Can you imagine a setting in which generations of families gather to praise the name of our Father in Heaven, glorifying Him with their lips and encouraging one another in the faith? A place where the young and the old are learning from each other, laughing with one another and striving for that same kind of fellowship that Paul talks about in Philippians 2:2 “…fulfill my joy by being likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”  Sounds a bit like Heaven!

My husband and I, along with Steve and Jennifer Schinnerer, have always had a passion for encouraging young people to be more faithful to God. We have been blessed to teach and train youth, take part in many church camps as well as young men’s preacher training camps. We have seen many lives transformed because of these activities. Your faith may have been influenced by one of these enriching events. If so, can you remember how you felt after a week or two of attending one of these camps? Without a doubt, your “time away” from the world, television, cell phone, and secular music gave you a much needed boost in your Christianity. This concentrated week of singing praises to God, hearing His word every day, and spending time with those friends that encourage you, may have lifted you higher in your faith than you ever thought possible! We desire that same blessing for all families! We want them to share in that same fire and excitement, not as individuals, but together – from generation to generation!

“But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.”

Psalm 79:13

Our first goal for Legacy Family Camp is to bring families together. We want them to
be strengthened by equipping fathers, mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, children and grandchildren to focus on God’s wonderful plan of multi-generational faithfulness. Bringing like-minded families together edifies them. It helps them to know that there are others out there striving for the same godly goals.

Our second goal for this camp is to serve as a building block for those families who are starting a new legacy of faithful generations. There are many families out there doing it alone. Some may have never had the blessing of multi-generational faithfulness and need this encouragement and guidance to get started.

Our third goal of this camp is to provide excellent teachers and the best resources to help each family be life-long disciples of Jesus Christ, which in turn, builds up His kingdom to the glory of God.  Strong families equal a strong church!

“One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:4

We are planning on having a great time! We are looking forward to spending time with families we love and admire. Some of the activities we will enjoy are: training classes, singing, question and answer sessions, discussion groups, horseback riding, ropes course, fishing, gun range, archery, mountain climbing, sports, a Luau (aloha!), a chuck wagon (yee-haw!), family photos, crafts, cards and dominoes!  We love to have fun! There will be something fun for everyone. We hope to help you build wonderful memories and a tradition of faith that will last for generations to come!

Legacy Family Camp will take place October 18-21 at Quartz Mountain Christian camp in Lone Wolf, OK.  For more information, go to:  http://legacyfamilycamp.wordpress.com/
