Let It Overflow: Draw Your Verse

June 25, 2012 by Guest Author 4 Comments

To kick off our challenge series I wanted to come up with a unique way to get information about the Lord’s church into your community and to your friends. As with all challenges try to make this one a family affair.

Challenge #1: Draw Your Verse

This is definitely going to be a challenge for some of us (me!) and less of a challenge for others. I want all of us to choose our favorite Bible verse and illustrate it. For children, you can have them draw their favorite Bible story.

Just so I don’t leave you totally struggling here is a picture of my illustrated verse, Romans 8:38-39 (start reading at the bottom).

As you can see, an artist I am not! The reason I’m asking you to attempt to draw the verse or story is because it’s not often today in our world that you receive handmade items. The next step in our challenge is to use your drawings to get information out about the church. Place your drawing on some construction paper or a larger piece of paper. Then below your picture write your congregation’s name, address, and meeting times. You can send your pictures to friends through the mail or hang it on a public bulletin board like at the public library, grocery store, laundry mat, etc.

Seeing something drawn by hand among all of the typed flyers will immediately draw the eye to yours and hopefully draw peoples’ eyes to the church. Which is the goal of these challenges to start, so let’s cover our towns and communities with pictures of God’s word!

Welcome to Come Fill Your Cup!

CFYC About Image Welcome! We are so glad you stopped by. Come Fill Your Cup is a group of Christian ladies dedicated to equipping women for study and service. We know you are busy and that life’s hectic pace pulls you in so many directions, but you can’t truly be the woman God desires unless you take time to fill your own cup…not with spa days (though we love a good spa!) or the latest novel…but with God’s Holy Word. We want to help you with that! Our goal is to reach you in the midst of your busy day and give you encouragement, education, and fellowship as you strive to live the life God has laid before you. Our prayer is that we can help fill your cup so that you, in turn, can overflow to all those around you. So, as we like to say…come fill your cup, and let it overflow!
