The Past is the Past?

August 9, 2011 by Guest Author 6 Comments

“Did you hear about the mess that girl has gotten herself into?  She has no respect for her parents, no respect for this congregation, and no respect for God.  I cannot believe she can walk in here with that haughty look on her face while it is blatantly clear that she has to be at least five months … [Read more...]

The Strong-Willed Mom

August 8, 2011 by Guest Author 4 Comments

We’ve all heard this new term for a child who throws fits and won’t take instruction: “the strong-willed child.” But what about the strong-willed mom? There are times when my daughter tells me she’s sorry for something she’s done, but I’m still so exasperated with her or set on punishing her for … [Read more...]

Others Before Self (Part 4 of 4)

August 4, 2011 by Guest Author 1 Comment

Okay, lovely ladies, we’re finally there: the last chapter of Philippians. We’ve seen the examples of Paul, Christ, Timothy, and Epaphroditus. We’ve seen the appeals to be selfless and the instructions on how to do so (click here for part 1, part 2, or part 3). Now at last we get to see the central … [Read more...]

Confessions of a Working Christian Woman

August 2, 2011 by Guest Author 2 Comments

Beep Beep Beep!  It is 4:30 PM and my alarm is going off.  I search for my alarm while I am half asleep and hit the snooze button.  I think to myself “Just ten more minutes” before I go back to sleep.  Beep Beep Beep!  It is 4:40 PM and my alarm goes off again.  I search for my alarm to turn it off … [Read more...]

Single Doesn’t Mean Worthless

August 1, 2011 by Guest Author 2 Comments

Being single in our society today is an extremely difficult thing. However, being a single woman in the Lord’s church can often be a hundred times harder. When I was single, I experienced being overlooked, underrated, and basically treated as a useless entity simply because I was a single woman. I … [Read more...]

Others Before Self (Part 3 of 4)

July 28, 2011 by Guest Author 1 Comment

Hey ladies! As you might already know, we’re learning about selflessness through a study of Philippians (see previous posts here: part one, part two). So far Paul has given two examples of selflessness for the church at Philippi (and us!) to follow: first, himself, and second, Jesus Christ. That’s … [Read more...]

Welcome to Come Fill Your Cup!

CFYC About Image Welcome! We are so glad you stopped by. Come Fill Your Cup is a group of Christian ladies dedicated to equipping women for study and service. We know you are busy and that life’s hectic pace pulls you in so many directions, but you can’t truly be the woman God desires unless you take time to fill your own cup…not with spa days (though we love a good spa!) or the latest novel…but with God’s Holy Word. We want to help you with that! Our goal is to reach you in the midst of your busy day and give you encouragement, education, and fellowship as you strive to live the life God has laid before you. Our prayer is that we can help fill your cup so that you, in turn, can overflow to all those around you. So, as we like to say…come fill your cup, and let it overflow!
