Wisdom of Women: Esther

September 16, 2010 by Guest Author 2 Comments

Esther was a Benjamite.  Her cousin Mordecai cared for her as if she was his own daughter after her father and mother died.  When Queen Vashti refused to come to King Ahasuerus, her crown was taken from her and a new queen was sought among the virgins of the citadel of Susa.  Esther was among the … [Read more...]

Practical Tips on How to Become a Mary

September 15, 2010 by Erynn Sprouse 9 Comments

Without a doubt, this is a Martha world. And as much as I hate to say it, I’m a Martha girl living in a Martha world. But as Christians, we’re to be Marys whether the world falls in line with Martha or Jezebel or Suzie Q. Jones. In Luke 10:38-42, we have the account of Jesus in the home of Martha … [Read more...]

It Was You

September 14, 2010 by Guest Author 4 Comments

I said, “Now brother, don’t you stumble. Be so strong just for today!” But then I walked before you, And put sharp rocks along the way I first took off my baggy jeans, For it was just too hot I then put on my shortest shorts, Though I knew that I should not I glanced back then to check … [Read more...]

Hold My Hand

September 13, 2010 by Kathy Pollard 5 Comments

Most of our teens sit together during worship, taking up the front two or three rows. This morning I sat directly behind them, which I love doing for various reasons. During the closing prayer, they did something I?ve seen them do many times. They held hands. That always makes me smile. How … [Read more...]

Wisdom of Women: Ruth

September 9, 2010 by Guest Author 1 Comment

As I set my Bible down after reading the book of Ruth, one word comes to mind: loyalty.  Ruth was loyal and her loyalty was noticed my many.  Ruth was from the land of Moab. She married Mahlon, the son of Elimelech and Naomi, who were from the land of Judah (Tyndale Bible Dictionary).  After … [Read more...]

Prayer

September 7, 2010 by Guest Author 1 Comment

Children suffer, families tumble, Guns explode, buildings crumble. Where were you, many ask, When children died in that flash. They blamed you then for that attack Though it was us who turned our backs. Your wing we left--took off on our own, We didn't care. If only we'd known. Your guidance … [Read more...]

Welcome to Come Fill Your Cup!

CFYC About Image Welcome! We are so glad you stopped by. Come Fill Your Cup is a group of Christian ladies dedicated to equipping women for study and service. We know you are busy and that life’s hectic pace pulls you in so many directions, but you can’t truly be the woman God desires unless you take time to fill your own cup…not with spa days (though we love a good spa!) or the latest novel…but with God’s Holy Word. We want to help you with that! Our goal is to reach you in the midst of your busy day and give you encouragement, education, and fellowship as you strive to live the life God has laid before you. Our prayer is that we can help fill your cup so that you, in turn, can overflow to all those around you. So, as we like to say…come fill your cup, and let it overflow!
