I asked God for wisdom,
And He gave me experience.
I asked God for patience,
And He gave me trials.
I asked God for peace,
And He gave me His word.
I asked God for love,
And He gave me the church.
I asked God for goodness,
And He gave me a new heart.
I asked God for forgiveness,
And He gave me Jesus Christ.
I asked God for happiness,
And He gave me you.

Welcome! We are so glad you stopped by. Come Fill Your Cup is a group of Christian ladies dedicated to equipping women for study and service. We know you are busy and that life’s hectic pace pulls you in so many directions, but you can’t truly be the woman God desires unless you take time to fill your own cup…not with spa days (though we love a good spa!) or the latest novel…but with God’s Holy Word. We want to help you with that! Our goal is to reach you in the midst of your busy day and give you encouragement, education, and fellowship as you strive to live the life God has laid before you. Our prayer is that we can help fill your cup so that you, in turn, can overflow to all those around you. So, as we like to say…come fill your cup, and let it overflow!
Emily, what a neat poem. Made me think about all of His never ending blessings! 😀
Excellent expression of God’s blessings!!!
Beautiful poem… key words… ask, ask, ask. Mt. 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
Mmm… I love how it is what we need that we receive, and not (specifically) what we ask for. God knows His creation so well. Praise God for answered prayers! :0)
PS – You have quite a talent for expression! That was beautiful!
Thank you all for your sweet comments! I like to write poems that teach, either directly or indirectly. This one is more subliminal, as in “I asked God, and He gave,” at the beginning of each new line. It’s something some people catch on to, while others just like the gist of the poem. I really appreciate everyone’s kindness; it means so much! I absolutely love to write! Thanks again! 🙂
Beautiful! I really enjoy poetry and I found encouragement in your poem. Thanks for sharing, Emily!
