God’s Beauty– As Seen Through My Child’s Eyes

September 28, 2011 by Guest Author 3 Comments

I watched my son play outside today
and I rediscovered God’s beauty that is all around.
For he picked up every leaf and smiled with delight
at each new treasure he found.

Then he saw a squirrel scamper up a tree
and he watched the clouds float away.
He was thrilled when our large cat came around-
but was upset when she refused to play.

So he chased a yellow butterfly
– well, until he saw two red birds
and he laughed at their conversation
(for they really did sound absurd!)

When did I stop noticing the beauty our God made,
or listening to the sounds of nature,
or enjoying the coolness of the shade?

I am thankful I watched my son play today
for I came to realize
All that I have missed or ignored,
God’s beauty- as seen through my child’s eyes!

Psalm 40:5, “Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done…”
Amid the hassle of your day, stop and admire God’s handiwork (Psalm 19:1)

Beautiful! I know sometimes I get caught up in my to-do list, the kids activities and all the many things vying for my attention throughout the day and forget to just bask in the moment and take it all in. Sometimes I think we adults need a “time-out”.

A very sweet poem. Children are so darlin’ and delight in so much. We sure can learn from them. ?

Welcome to Come Fill Your Cup!

CFYC About Image Welcome! We are so glad you stopped by. Come Fill Your Cup is a group of Christian ladies dedicated to equipping women for study and service. We know you are busy and that life’s hectic pace pulls you in so many directions, but you can’t truly be the woman God desires unless you take time to fill your own cup…not with spa days (though we love a good spa!) or the latest novel…but with God’s Holy Word. We want to help you with that! Our goal is to reach you in the midst of your busy day and give you encouragement, education, and fellowship as you strive to live the life God has laid before you. Our prayer is that we can help fill your cup so that you, in turn, can overflow to all those around you. So, as we like to say…come fill your cup, and let it overflow!
