I am so excited to be starting 2020 with you! 2019 has been a wonderful year and we are so thankful that you have let us share in part of your life. This is a special year for us because this spring will mark our 10 year anniversary! I can hardly believe it. 10 years ago none of us could have possibly imagined what this ministry effort would become. The Lord has absolutely blown us away with the things He has done over the past decade and we have been so blessed to be along for the ride. Be on the lookout for some exciting announcements about our 10 year celebration in a few months.
As always, we will continue to focus on helping you with your spiritual growth. We understand that spiritually strong women form the backbone of the church as wives, mothers, Bible class teachers, and mentors. It is our goal to reach you in the midst of your busy day and help you refocus on what is important so those day to day urgencies don’t crowd out what is truly necessary for spiritual stability: God’s word. We have several tools I would love to remind you of, that can help you with that very thing!
First is our yearly Bible reading plan. We focus on quality over quantity here. While reading the entire Bible in a year is valuable, we have found that usually, by the time people reach February, they are burned out and have given up on their goal. Or, on the other hand, they stick it out and make sure they run through their checklist but aren’t retaining much. We love to choose a shorter, focused reading plan so that it is easy to catch up when you get behind. Having only a few verses to focus on each day also allows you truly dwell on what you have read. This year we will start on January 13 and will be reading through Proverbs. Each Monday the reading plan for the week will be posted on our website and social media. Read it, listen to it, write it, diagram it, draw it, memorize it…we don’t care how you participate, we just want you to be in God’s word, focusing on what it says and thinking about how it applies to your life!
We have several other series designed to help you get in the word as well. Our online Finer Grounds Bible studies will give you the opportunity to study a book of the Bible in-depth with some of our favorite ladies. Next up is Romans by Lacy Crowell starting this spring. Some of these are available in book form from Kaio Publications. In addition to this, we have a wonderful series called Book by Book by Kathryn Baker in which she takes one book of the Bible per month, breaks down the important people, events, and keywords, then issues a challenge to you, the reader. I hope that you will take advantage of some of these tools designed to help you fulfill your goal of getting into the word this year.
One feature I’m particularly excited about is From the Heart of an Older Woman which is returning with Carla Moore. She will be drawing upon her years of experience as a godly wife and mother to share with us insight into daily living. I cannot express how thankful I am that she has agreed to share her wisdom with us, I know we will all be blessed. Be looking for a new article from Carla each month starting this week!
I could go on and on about all the things that I’m so excited about, from retreats, to celebration, to articles, but I will leave you here and simply tell you to keep your eyes peeled and be sure to subscribe to find out about all the things we have coming. It is an understatement to say these past ten years have changed my life. I know I haven’t met most of you, but know that you are in my prayers daily and I earnestly love you and want nothing more than to spend eternity with you in heaven. Thank you for letting Come Fill Your Cup be a part of your journey. I cannot wait to spend 2020 with you!
In Him,
Kristy Huntsman
