Power

May 5, 2014 by Guest Author Leave a Comment

We use our electricity every day. It runs everything in our house, from the computer that I'm typing this on to the coffee pot that brewed the cup of coffee that I'm drinking. It is something that is around us all the time. We don't often realize how much we use it until the power goes out. Have you … [Read more...]

All Things Praise Thee

I am destined to be a bird-lover. I was named after a bird (robin), and then went and married a man with a bird last name (martin)! I have already told my family that when I die, I would like the song,  “I’ll Fly Away” to be sung at my funeral! At least my parents chose a popular bird name for me, I … [Read more...]

The Joy Bus

"Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, 'Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'" Matthew 19:13-14 If you know my … [Read more...]

War. It's bloody and wretched and deadly. It requires total commitment on the part of every soldier. A soldier who is injured or gives their life on the field of battle is hailed as a hero. The sacrifice for country and security of all families brings honor and pride to the cherished loved ones who … [Read more...]

Does HE Say Yes to the Dress?

To my sister in the faith getting hitched: I am unbelievably happy for you. I can’t help but grin and squeal about things like this, but there is something I have noticed that I would like to bring to our attention. Firstly, you need to understand that 1) I want this to be helpful, and 2) … [Read more...]

From the Heart of an Older Woman: Children in Worship Services

April 11, 2014 by Karla Sparks 11 Comments

Ahh, Sundays with small children! Squishing chubby baby legs into tights. Hoping your toddlers don’t spill food on their fancy clothes. Coaxing a cowlick to lay down on your son’s head, while attempting to do keep your daughter from eating her hair bow. Getting a whole family ready all at once, … [Read more...]

Welcome to Come Fill Your Cup!

CFYC About Image Welcome! We are so glad you stopped by. Come Fill Your Cup is a group of Christian ladies dedicated to equipping women for study and service. We know you are busy and that life’s hectic pace pulls you in so many directions, but you can’t truly be the woman God desires unless you take time to fill your own cup…not with spa days (though we love a good spa!) or the latest novel…but with God’s Holy Word. We want to help you with that! Our goal is to reach you in the midst of your busy day and give you encouragement, education, and fellowship as you strive to live the life God has laid before you. Our prayer is that we can help fill your cup so that you, in turn, can overflow to all those around you. So, as we like to say…come fill your cup, and let it overflow!
